  1. Go to Speakeasy Speed Test. Use this test to check your internet connection speed.
    Ensure that your download and upload speeds are high enough to properly run the AMVONET program. Average speeds of 512kb/s download and 128kb/s upload should be sufficient.
  2. Check to see if other people at your location are using the internet, their internet usage could be using too much bandwidth to run AMVONET. (note: netflix, hulu, and other streaming sites will use a lot of bandwidth)
    • A. Also check to see if there are files downloading in the background on your computer or any other computer at your location.

  3. If you are using a laptop, make sure you are close to the wireless router. And if necessary, plug directly into the router using an ethernet cable.
  4. If you are using a wireless card (Sprint, ATT, etc) do the following:
    • A. Move to a location with a better signal or better coverage (3g, 4g, etc)
      B. Restart your computer

  5. If you are using satellite internet do the following:
    • A. Check to make sure there are no weather conditions that would degrade the satellite signal

  6. Restart the modem and/or router
    • A. In order to restart the modem and/or router, follow these steps:
      B. Unplug the device for 30 seconds
      C. Plug the device back in and wait for it to start back up
      D. While waiting for the device to start back up, restart your computer
